Isla Nena

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Secret Beach (Pata Prieta) and Malecon. Step out of the city life by going to Stand-Up Paddleboarding and Sun Bay Beach. There's lots more to do: kick back and relax at La Chiva, take in the waterfront at Mosquito Pier, stroll through Caracas Beach, and look for gifts at Isla Vida.
