Ponce is both a city and a municipality in the southern part of Puerto Rico. On the 23rd (Sat), see the interesting displays at Parque de Bombas, then admire the masterpieces at Museo de Arte de Ponce, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of our Lady of Guadaloupe.

Drive from Rincon to Ponce in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car, flight, and shuttle. Traveling from Rincon in January, Ponce is slightly colder at night with lows of 69°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Sat) early enough to travel to Isla de Vieques.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
On the 24th (Sun), take in the waterfront at Malecon, enjoy the sand and surf at Media Luna Beach, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Navio Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: stroll through Secret Beach (Pata Prieta), enjoy the sand and surf at La Chiva, and then paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour.

Culebra

Little Island

With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Tamarindo Beach and Playa Punta Soldado Beach. Visiting Boat Tours & Water Sports and Culebrita Island will get you outdoors. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Playa Carlos Rosario, tour the pleasant surroundings at Zoni Beach, and visit a coastal fixture at Culebrita Lighthouse.
