City of Seven Hills

Built on seven hills, Lisbon has experienced a renaissance in recent years, making it the cultural star of Portugal.
Bring the kids along to Lisbon Oceanarium and Mosteiro dos Jeronimos. Castelo de S. Jorge and Igreja de Sao Domingos (Santa Justa e Rufina) will appeal to history buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Lisbon: Evora (Templo Romano de Evora (Templo de Diana), Centro Historico de Evora, &more) and Parque Natural da Arrabida (in Setubal). There's still lots to do: make a trip to Belém Tower, pause for some photo ops at Arco do Triunfo, and take some stellar pictures from Miradouro da Graca (Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen).

Miranda do Douro or Miranda de l Douro is a town and a municipality in the district of Bragança, northeastern Portugal. Start off your visit on the 21st (Wed): step into the grandiose world of Castelo de Algoso and then explore the wealth of natural beauty at Parque Natural do Douro Internacional. On your second day here, see the interesting displays at Museu da Terra de Miranda, get great views at Miradouro S. Joao das Arribas, and then make a trip to Basilica de Santo Cristo de Outeiro.
