Occupying the southern bank of the famous Ganges River, the state capital of Patna combines an important religious and regal heritage with a fast-growing commercial and transport hub.
Nalanda University and Golghar will appeal to history buffs. You'll explore and learn at Patna Museum and Srikrishna Science Centre. There's much more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Hanuman Mandir, tour the pleasant surroundings at Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park, explore and take pictures at Gandhi Sangrahalaya, and let little ones run wild at Eco Park.

Vaishali was a city in present-day Bihar, India, and is now an archaeological site. Kick off your visit on the 19th (Sat): contemplate the long history of Ashok Pillar, pause for some photo ops at Lion Pillar, then appreciate the history behind Buddha Stupa I and II, and finally admire the striking features of Vishwa Shanti Stupa. On the 20th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: steep yourself in history at Raja Vishal's Garh, then contemplate the waterfront views at Abhiskek Pushkarn (Coronation Tank), and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Simri Mai Temple.
