Situated on the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss, York has witnessed an abundance of major political events throughout its two millennia of existence.
National Railway Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre will appeal to museum buffs. Do some cultural sightseeing at York Minster and The York Dungeon. When in York, make a side trip to see National Centre for Birds of Prey in Helmsley, approximately 50 minutes away. The adventure continues: go for a walk through York City Walls, test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms, find something for the whole family at Yorkshire's Winter Wonderland, and view the masterpieces at Pyramid Gallery.
