Giverny is a small French village in Upper Normandy, best known as the rural retreat of the Impressionist painter Claude Monet (1840-1926).
Start off your visit on the 15th (Sat): explore the world behind art at Musee des Beaux-Arts de Rouen, then visit Rue du Gros-Horloge, then admire the natural beauty at Fondation Claude Monet, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Eglise Sainte-Radegonde de Giverny. On your second day here, contemplate the long history of Chateau Gaillard, get outside with Atelier galerie du bord de Seine, then pause for some serene contemplation at Basilique Notre-Dame de Bonsecours, and finally admire the striking features of Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Rouen.

Honfleur is a town surrounding a beautiful little 17th-century harbor in Lower Normandy.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Notre Dame de Grace and Palais Benedictine. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Deauville Beach and Cathedrale Notre-Dame. Get out of town with these interesting Honfleur side-trips: Abbaye de St-Wandrille (in Saint-Wandrille-Rancon), Falaises d'Etretat (in Etretat) and Chateau d'Etelan (in Saint-Maurice-d’Etelan). There's much more to do: don't miss a visit to Sanctuaire Sainte Therese, explore the historical opulence of Chateau de Saint-Germain-de-Livet, steep yourself in history at Les Buissonnets, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Saint Catherine's Catholic Church.
