The hilly port city of Nagasaki has become known internationally as one of the two Japanese cities to be destroyed by an atomic bomb towards the close of World War II.
On the 29th (Wed), don't miss a visit to Hypocenter of Atomic Bombing, get engrossed in the history at Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, stroll around Nagasaki Peace Park, then take in the awesome beauty at Mt. Inasa, and finally snap pictures at Megane Bridge. Here are some ideas for day two: see the interesting displays at Dejima, admire the natural beauty at Glover Garden, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Sofukuji Temple, and finally head off the coast to Hashima Island.

Boracay, Philippines to Nagasaki is an approximately 10.5-hour combination of ferry, flight, and train. You can also do a combination of ferry, bus, and flight. The time zone changes from Philippines Time to Japan Standard Time, which is usually a 1 hour difference. While traveling from Boracay, expect a bit cooler days and much colder nights in Nagasaki, ranging from highs of 22°C to lows of 14°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 30th (Thu) so you can catch the train to Fukuoka.

Fukuoka

Fukuoka
The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
Kick off your visit on the 1st (Fri): let the kids burn off some steam at Ohori Park, explore the world behind art at Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, take in the spiritual surroundings of Dazaifu Temmangu, then enjoy breathtaking views from Komenoyama Obsevatory, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Kushida Shrine. On the 2nd (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: browse the different shops at Tenjin Underground Shopping Center, make a trip to Hakata Station, enjoy breathtaking views from Fukuoka Tower, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Komyozen-ji Temple, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tenkai Inari Shrine.

Traveling by train from Nagasaki to Fukuoka takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In April, plan for daily highs up to 23°C, and evening lows to 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sat) to allow time to take a train to Hiroshima.

Get out of town with these interesting Hiroshima side-trips: Hatsukaichi (Miyajima, Itsukushima Shrine, & more). You can take a train from Fukuoka to Hiroshima in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 28°C in May, and nighttime lows around 18°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 5th (Tue) early enough to travel back home.
