A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.
Kids will enjoy Busselton Jetty and Sunflowers Animal Farm. There's much more to do: explore the fascinating underground world of Lake Cave, awaken your taste buds at some of the top wineries in the area, and do a tasting at Pierro.

Perth to Margaret River is an approximately 3-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 1st (Fri) to allow time for the car ride to Perth.

A modern metropolis of glassy skyscrapers, waterside boulevards, and lush residential neighborhoods, Perth sits on the edge of the Swan Coastal Plain.
Kids will enjoy Kings Park and Botanic Garden and The Perth Mint. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Perth: Fremantle (Fremantle Prison, The Fremantle Round House, &more).
