Vaduz

— 7 nights
As the capital of Liechtenstein, Vaduz is the country's financial and economic hub.
Step off the beaten path and head to Galina Falcon Center and Das Walsermuseum, Triesenberg. Escape the urban bustle at Ganglesee Lake and Malbi-park. Change things up with a short trip to Ruggeller Riet Nature Reserve in Ruggell (about 30 minutes away). There's still lots to do: step into the grandiose world of Vaduz Castle, pause for some serene contemplation at Cathedral of St. Florin, ponder the world of politics at Landtag of Liechtenstein, and take an in-depth tour of Liechtenstein National Museum.

To see traveler tips, maps, and more tourist information, you can read our Vaduz trip maker website.

Munich, Germany to Vaduz is an approximately 2.5-hour car ride. You can also take a train; or do a combination of flight and train. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Fri) so you can drive back home.

Business Microstate
One of the smallest but most successful countries in the world, the German-speaking microstate of Liechtenstein is known primarily for two things: its gorgeous Alpine location and strong economy. Due to its size, Liechtenstein is culturally influenced by its neighboring countries, Austria and Switzerland. It is also quite similar to them geographically, with a mountainous landscape that draws scores of tourists for winter holidays. Outdoor enthusiasts have plenty to enjoy here year-round, with numerous hiking and biking trails. As the second-richest nation in the world with one of the lowest unemployment rates, Lichtenstein's charm nevertheless lies in the pride its citizens take in their country's independence and natural splendor.
