La Baule-Escoublac, commonly referred to as La Baule, is a commune in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France.A century-old seaside resort in southern Brittany with beautiful villas, casino, luxury hotels and an original mix of old Breton and exclusive seaside culture with a 12 kilometer-long sand beach, La Baule has long been home to French high society's seaside residences. Get out of town with these interesting La-Baule-Escoublac side-trips: Vannes (Centre Historique de Vannes, Old City Walls of Vannes, & more), Port De St Goustan (in Auray) and Rochefort-en-terre (in Rochefort en Terre). There's lots more to do: explore the ancient world of Carnac stones, get outside with Manege des Platanes, see the interesting displays at Musee Aeronautique de la Presqu'ile Cote d'Amour, and admire nature's wide array of creatures at Parc Animalier et Botanique de Branfere.
