The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Fukuoka Prefectural Museum of Art as well as Kushida Shrine. On the 12th (Wed), contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tochoji Temple, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kushida Shrine, then steep yourself in history at Fukuoka Castle Ruins, and finally examine the collection at Fukuoka Prefectural Museum of Art.
