Famous for the groves of coconut trees from which it takes its name, Kovalam offers a long, white sandy beach on the Arabian Sea.

Kolkata (Calcutta) to Kovalam is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and taxi. Traveling from Kolkata (Calcutta) in February, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 28°C in Kovalam. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Fri) early enough to drive to Thekkady.

Centered on an artificial lake, Thekkady provides a sanctuary to a diverse set of animals and plant species.
On the 8th (Sat), look for all kinds of wild species at Periyar Tiger Reserve, contemplate the waterfront views at Periyar Lake, then look for all kinds of wild species at Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, and finally take some stellar pictures from Chellarcovil View Point.

Nedumkandam is the headquarters of Udumbanchola taluk which is situated in Idukki district of the Indian state of Kerala. Cardamom Hills has been added to your itinerary. On the 9th (Sun), get great views at Ramakkalmedu and then take in the dramatic natural features at Cardamom Hills.
