Known for its wide range of restaurants and traditional pubs, Kenmare sits along two major Irish tourist routes, the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Skellig Michael and Staigue Fort. Change things up with these side-trips from Kenmare: Drombeg Stone Circle (in Skibbereen), Garinish Island (in Glengarriff) and Inchydoney Beach (in Clonakilty). Spend the 28th (Fri) exploring the striking scenery along Slea Head Drive. The adventure continues: steep yourself in history at Stone Circle, get to know the fascinating history of Molly Gallivan's Cottage & Traditional Farm, admire the striking features of Bantry House & Garden, and snap pictures at Cromwell's Bridge.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major airports are Cork Airport and Shannon Airport. Expect a daytime high around 64°F in August, and nighttime lows around 54°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Wed) to allow time to travel back home.
