Once synonymous with the mysterious and inaccessible Shangri-La, today Kathmandu draws an ever-increasing number of tourists, catering to independent travelers of various budgets.
Change things up with a short trip to Siddhi Lakshmi Temple in Bhaktapur (about 38 minutes away). New Delhi, India to Kathmandu is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. The time zone difference when traveling from New Delhi to Kathmandu is 0.2 hours. Pokhara is known for nature, adventure, and historic sites.
