Daughter of the Baltic

Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Turku Cathedral and Sinebrychoff Art Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Take a break from the city and head to Arboretum Mustila and Nuuksio National Park. Change things up with these side-trips from Helsinki: St. Nicholas Orthodox Church (in Kotka), Turku (Turku Biological Museum & Turku Castle) and Niivermaki Nature Conservation Area (in Kouvola). There's much more to do: browse the exhibits of Mannerheim Museum, hike along Tulliniemi Nature Path, look for all kinds of wild species at Paavolan Tammi, and step into the grandiose world of Sea Fortress Suomenlinna.
