The oldest European settlement on South Australia's mainland, Glenelg is named after a former Secretary of State for War and the Colonies, Lord Glenelg.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Glenelg: McLaren Vale (Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards Cellar Door and Winery, Old Oval Estate, & more), Aldinga Beach (in Aldinga Beach) and The Cedars (in Hahndorf). There's lots more to do: take in the waterfront at Glenelg Pier, see the interesting displays at Bay Discovery Centre, tour the pleasant surroundings at Henley Beach, and trek along River Torrens Linear Park Trail.

To find traveler tips, more things to do, where to stay, and tourist information, read Glenelg holiday maker site .

If you are flying in from Singapore, the closest major airport is Adelaide International Airport. In September, daily temperatures in Glenelg can reach 22°C, while at night they dip to 11°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 29th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
