Head to Bairnsdale at any time of year to discover a busy regional centre from which to explore the vast Gippsland Lakes and spectacular Ninety Mile Beach, or the alpine highlights of Omeo, Dinner Plain and Mount Hotham.
On the 4th (Sat), look for all kinds of wild species at Raymond Island, don't miss a visit to Mitchell River Silt Jetties, and then Head underground at Buchan Caves. Keep things going the next day: try for a hole-in-one at Footbridge Mini Golf, Icecream & Lolly Shop, stroll through Lakes Entrance Beach, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at St Mary's Catholic Church.
