Do some cultural sightseeing at Royal Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe and Monasterio de San Jeronimo de Yuste. Your inner history buff will appreciate Castillo de Trujillo (Trujillo Castle) and Castillo de Monfague. Explore Plasencia's surroundings by going to Monfrague National Park (in Caceres), Meandro Melero (in Riomalo de Abajo) and Bodegas Ruiz Torres (in Canamero).

Mérida is the capital of the autonomous community of Extremadura, western central Spain. Do some cultural sightseeing at Museo Nacional de Arte Romano and Old Town of Caceres. Museum-lovers will appreciate Museo de Historia de la Computacion and Museo De Cáceres. Take a break from Merida with a short trip to Torre de Bujaco in Caceres, about 1h 15 min away. There's much more to do: take in the views from Roman Bridge, don't miss a visit to Templo de Diana, take a stroll through Casco Historico de Merida, and tee off at Don Tello Club de Golf.
