Mérida is the capital of the autonomous community of Extremadura, western central Spain. Start off your visit on the 2nd (Sat): catch a live performance at Teatro Romano de Merida, don't miss a visit to Acueducto de los Milagros, then make a trip to Circo romano, and finally make a trip to Basilica de Santa Eulalia. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: contemplate the long history of Alcazaba, snap pictures at Roman Bridge, and then appreciate the history behind Casa del Mitreo.

Cáceres is the capital of Cáceres province, in the autonomous community of Extremadura, Spain. Get a sense of the local culture at Torre de Bujaco and Santa Maria Church-Procathedral. Spend the 4th (Mon) exploring nature at Monfrague National Park. There's still lots to do: get engrossed in the history at Museo De Cáceres and steep yourself in history at Star Archway (Arco de la Estrella).
