Darwin

— 7 nights

Outback Capital of the Northern Territory

The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
Shop till you drop at Viva La Body and Mbantua Fine Art Gallery. Attractions like Crocosaurus Cove and Darwin Waterfront make great kid-friendly stops. Step out of Darwin to go to Berry Springs and see Territory Wildlife Park, which is approximately 42 minutes away. Spend the 22nd (Fri) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. The adventure continues: get some thrills on the water with a speed boat tour, learn about all things military at Darwin Aviation Museum, enjoy the sand and surf at Mindil Beach, and get to know the resident critters at Crocodylus Park.

To find maps, reviews, photos, and more tourist information, read Darwin trip itinerary planner.

January in Darwin sees daily highs of 37°C and lows of 29°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Fri) so you can travel back home.
