You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Fisherman's Bastion and Liberty Statue. You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Palatinus Strandfürdő and Thermal Spas. There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), examine the collection at House of Terror Museum, appreciate the history behind Heroes' Square, and get a sense of history and politics at Hungarian Parliament Building.

You can do a combination of flight and bus from Brussels to Budapest in 6 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train, flight, and bus; or drive.
