The kingdom's capital and most modern city, Thimphu offers a mix of ancient traditions and modern commercialism.
Visit Tashichho Dzong (Thimpu Dzong) and Druk Wangyel Monastery for their historical value. Let the collections at Simply Bhutan Museum and Bhutan Postal Museum capture your imagination. The adventure continues: explore and take pictures at Dochula Pass, pause for some photo ops at Kuenselphodrang, see the interesting displays at National Textile Museum, and make a trip to Thimphu Chorten (Memorial Chorten).

Mumbai, India to Thimphu is an approximately 7.5- hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus, train, and flight; or do a combination of train and flight. Traveling from Mumbai to Thimphu, you'll lose 0.5 hours due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Mumbai in April, expect Thimphu to be much colder, temps between 24°C and 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Punakha.
