A World Heritage Site, Bath has been one of Europe’s most popular spa destinations since the Roman era.
Step off the beaten path and head to Fashion Museum Bath and Holburne Museum. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like The Roman Baths and Parish Church of St John Baptist. Get out of town with these interesting Bath side-trips: Corinium Museum (in Cirencester) and The Cotswold Range (in Somerford Keynes). There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Bath Street, explore the galleries of Emma Rose Art Works, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Bath Botanical Gin Distillery, and admire the landmark architecture of The Circus.

A busy, cosmopolitan city, Oxford is perhaps best known for its ancient university.
Kick off your visit on the 5th (Sun): contemplate the long history of Chedworth Roman Villa, see the interesting displays at Cotswold Motoring Museum, and then identify plant and animal life at Birdland. Here are some ideas for day two: gain insight at Christ Church Cathedral, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Magdalen College, then get a new perspective on nature at Oxford University Museum of Natural History, then admire the landmark architecture of Bodleian Library, and finally step into the grandiose world of Oxford Castle & Prison.

Take a train from Bath to Oxford in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and bus. In July in Oxford, expect temperatures between 27°C during the day and 13°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Cambridge.
