Barcelona, the country’s second-largest city, is a cosmopolitan urban center known for its throbbing youthful energy and stellar architecture.
For shopping fun, head to La Boqueria or Passeig de Gracia. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Basilica of the Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell. Venture out of the city with trips to Cala Sa Conca (in Platja d'Aro), S'Agaro (San Pol Beach & Camino de Ronda) and Museu d'Historia (in Sant Feliu de Guixols). There's lots more to do: admire the landmark architecture of Casa Batllo, wander the streets of Las Ramblas, kick back and relax at Playas de Calella, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Playa Cala Sa Boadella.
