Pecs

— 7 nights
Pécs is the fifth largest city of Hungary, located on the slopes of the Mecsek mountains in the south-west of the country, close to its border with Croatia. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Pecs: Mohacs (Inner City Parish Church, Votive Memorial Church, &more), Siklos (Siklos Castle, Thermal Spa, &more) and Villany (Wunderlich Winery and Wine Cellar, Gere Attila Pinceszete- Winery, &more). The adventure continues: don't miss a visit to Szechenyi Ter, go for a walk through Zsolnay Cultural Quarter, take in the spiritual surroundings of Pecs Synagogue, and enjoy breathtaking views from TV Tower (TV Torony).

To see reviews, maps, ratings, and other tourist information, read Pecs road trip website.

Expect a daytime high around 24°C in May, and nighttime lows around 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Tue) to allow time to travel back home.

Baranya County travel guide

4.1
Landmarks · Churches · Sacred & Religious Sites
One of the sunnier regions of Hungary, Baranya County boasts a largely Mediterranean climate. You'll find many archaeological attractions here (as this area previously belonged to the Roman Empire), but the Tuscan-like landscape is a main draw for most tourists. Nearly 200 Roman relics and monuments remain in the Pecs area, such as the Paleochristian graves, one of the only Roman World Heritage Sites outside of Italy. The region also boasts mosques, baths, and architectural attractions from the Ottoman Empire.
