Though the town of Sagres has roots in the Portuguese Age of Discovery, it is better known by visitors as a peaceful, rugged resort spot with great surfing beaches.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Arrifana Beach and Praia do Beliche. Take a break from the city and head to Praia Da Amoreira and Praia do Monte Clérigo. The adventure continues: kick back and relax at Salema Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Bordeira Beach, contemplate the long history of Forte de Almádena, and see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour.

Bordeaux, France to Sagres is an approximately 8.5-hour combination of flight and bus. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus.
