Vence is a commune set in the hills of the Alpes Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France between Nice and Antibes.Ecclesiastical historyThe first known Bishop of Vence is Severus, bishop in 439 and perhaps as early as 419.Among others are: St. Explore hidden gems such as Point Sublime and Mercantour National Park. Escape the urban bustle at Massif du Tanneron and Gorges de Daluis. Explore Vence's surroundings by going to Rhone American Cemetery and Memorial (in Draguignan), La Citadelle d'Entrevaux (in Entrevaux) and Golf du Chateau de Taulane (in La Martre). There's lots more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at La Cathedrale Notre-Dame de la Nativite de Vence, stroll through L'Imbut, take in the dramatic natural features at Gorges du Cians, and delve into the distant past at Forteresse Medievale De Gourdon.
