Dominated by two major universities, Uppsala serves as Scandinavia's oldest center of higher education.
You've added Gamla Uppsala, Uppsala Castle (Uppsala Slott), Linnaeus Garden, and other attractions to your itinerary. Get out of town with these interesting Uppsala side-trips: Stora Sundby Slott (in Alberga), Rosersbergs Slott (in Rosersberg) and Hjalmare kanal (in Arboga). There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at Linnaeus' Hammarby, appreciate the extensive heritage of Sormlandsgarden, make a trip to Stadshuset, and get engrossed in the history at Julita Manor.
