A highlight of the west of the country, Tottori sits along the coast of the Sea of Japan.
Change things up with these side-trips from Tottori: Himeji (Shoshazan Engyoji & Mt Shosha hiking), Shinonsen-cho (Arayu, Hamasaka, & more) and Harimakuni Ichinomiya Iwa Shrine (in Shiso). There's still lots to do: stroll through Tottori Sand Dunes, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Hakuto Shrine, get to know the fascinating history of Kakuzan Park (Tsuyama Castle), and take in the awesome beauty at Daisen.

To find ratings, maps, and other tourist information, refer to the Tottori trip planning tool .

If you are flying in from Singapore, the closest major airports are Okayama Airport, Osaka International Airport and Takamatsu Airport. In May, daily temperatures in Tottori can reach 25°C, while at night they dip to 17°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 25th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
