A city with character, Belfast remains a great place for a leisurely exploration, as it is still relatively undiscovered by foreign tourists, who usually opt to visit Dublin instead.
Explore hidden gems such as Streamvale Open Farm and Carrickfergus Castle. Kids will appreciate attractions like World of Owls and SS Nomadic. Go for a jaunt from Belfast to Larne to see Carnfunnock Country Park about 40 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: get your game on at Clip 'n Climb Dundonald and browse the collection at Glengormley Library.

To see maps, where to stay, more things to do, and tourist information, use the Belfast holiday site.

London to Belfast is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train and ferry. In June, daytime highs in Belfast are °C, while nighttime lows are °C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Tue) to allow time to drive to Portrush.

Portrush

Portrush ©
Portrush is a small seaside resort town in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, on the County Londonderry border. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Ballycastle Beach and Rathlin Island. Kids will enjoy Walled city Londonderry and Giant's Causeway. Venture out of the city with trips to Derry (Bloody Sunday Memorial & Museum of Free Derry) and The Puffin Gallery (in Ballycastle). There's still lots to do: take a leisurely stroll along Ballintoy Harbour, take in the dramatic scenery at Dunseverick Falls, and take a memorable drive along Causeway Coastal Route.

To find more things to do, where to stay, maps, and more tourist information, refer to the Portrush trip planning tool.

Getting from Belfast to Portrush by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a train. In June, plan for daily highs up to °C, and evening lows to °C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 13th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
