Portrush is a small seaside resort town in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, on the County Londonderry border. The Abingdon Collection and Ulster American Folk Park will appeal to museum buffs. Do some cultural sightseeing at Dunluce Castle and City Walls. Change things up with these side-trips from Portrush: Dun Uladh Cultural Heritage Centre (in Omagh), The Puffin Gallery (in Ballycastle) and Derry (St. Augustine's Church & The Two Bridges Walk). There's lots more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Giant's Causeway, snap pictures at Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Downhill Demesne & Hezlett House, and kick back and relax at Causeway Coastal Route.

For photos, other places to visit, and other tourist information, read Portrush road trip planner.

Norfolk, USA to Portrush is an approximately 17- hour combination of flight and car. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 5 hours traveling from Norfolk to Portrush. When traveling from Norfolk in July, plan for cooler days and slightly colder nights in Portrush: temperatures range from 66°F by day to 56°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sun) to allow time to drive to Belfast.

A city with character, Belfast remains a great place for a leisurely exploration, as it is still relatively undiscovered by foreign tourists, who usually opt to visit Dublin instead.
On the 3rd (Mon), explore the historical opulence of Carrickfergus Castle, examine the collection at Titanic Belfast, then see the interesting displays at SS Nomadic, and finally contemplate the long history of Crumlin Road Gaol. Keep things going the next day: ponder the world of politics at City Hall, then learn more about the world around you at Ulster Museum, and then see the interesting displays at HMS Caroline.

Getting from Portrush to Belfast by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a train. Expect a daytime high around 65°F in August, and nighttime lows around 54°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Tue) early enough to travel back home.
