Ancient yet modern, Derry has a photogenic location on the River Foyle and features a series of historic defensive walls that are the most complete in Ireland.
Venture out of the city with trips to Omagh (Ulster American Folk Park & The Abingdon Collection), Dunluce Castle (in Portrush) and Bushmills (Giant's Causeway, Causeway Coastal Route, & more). A city with character, Belfast remains a great place for a leisurely exploration, as it is still relatively undiscovered by foreign tourists, who usually opt to visit Dublin instead.
On the 26th (Sat), get a sense of history and politics at City Hall, take in the architecture and atmosphere at St George's Church, contemplate the long history of Crumlin Road Gaol, then see the interesting displays at SS Nomadic, and finally see the interesting displays at Titanic Belfast. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 27th (Sun): get a new perspective on nature at Ulster Museum, admire the natural beauty at Belfast Botanical Gardens, and then cruise along Coast Rd.
