The political capital of Martinique, Fort-de-France has a thriving commercial center and a number of historic sites.
Kids will enjoy Montagne Pelee and Anse Noire. Venture out of the city with trips to Scuba & Snorkeling (in Le Marin), Sainte-Anne (La Pointe Marin, Etang des Salines, &more) and Saint-Pierre (Maman Dlo & Cachot de Cyparis et ancienne prison). There's still lots to do: take in nature's colorful creations at Jardin de Balata, soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers, take an in-depth tour of La Savane des Esclaves, and kick back and relax at Anse Dufour.
