Paris of the North

Often referred to as "The Paris of the North," Riga offers thriving nightlife and some of the best collections of Art Nouveau architecture in Europe.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Turaida Castle as well as Riga by Canal. Visiting Gutman's Cave and Sixt Rent A Bicycle will get you outdoors. Venture out of the city with trips to Cable Car Across Gauja (in Sigulda) and Salaspils Memorial Ensemble (in Salaspils). Ventspils is a town in northwestern Latvia in the historical Courland region of Latvia, and is the sixth largest city in the country. Your day by day itinerary now includes Edole Castle. Kick off your visit on the 22nd (Fri): admire the sheer force of Venta Rapid Waterfall and then Head underground at The Riezupe Sand Caves.

Drive from Riga to Ventspils in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Start off your visit on the 24th (Sun): stroll around Dubrovin Park, pause for some serene contemplation at Saints Boris and Gleb Cathedral, and then take in the exciting artwork at Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre.
