Katowice is a city in southwestern Poland, with a population of 299,910 and the center of the Silesian Metropolis, with a population of 2.2 million.Throughout the mid-18th century, Katowice had developed into a village upon the discovery of rich coal reserves in the area. Kick off your visit on the 20th (Tue): have fun and explore at Guitar History Museum, enjoy the scholastic atmosphere at Academy of Music in Katowice, then stroll the grounds of Bazylika Sw. Szczepana - Sanktuarium MB Boguckiej, then take in panoramic vistas at Warszawa II Observation Tower, and finally don't miss a visit to Silesian Insurgents' Monument (Pomnik Powstancow Slaskich).
