The country's smallest city in terms of population, Kilkenny boasts a rich cultural heritage and diverse tourist attractions that include well-preserved medieval architecture, exciting nightlife, a vibrant culinary scene, and abundant shopping opportunities.
Kick off your visit on the 5th (Sat): get outside with Go With The Flow - River Adventures, steep yourself in history at Kilkenny Castle, then stroll through Rothe House and Garden, then indulge your thirst for a good beer at Smithwick's Experience, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Canice's Cathedral & Round Tower.

You can take a bus from Dublin to Kilkenny in 2 hours. Other options are to take a train; or drive. Traveling from Dublin in June, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be somewhat warmer in Kilkenny, with lows of 14°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 6th (Sun) so you can go by car to Waterford.

Start off your visit on the 6th (Sun): appreciate the history behind John Condon Memorial, admire the landmark architecture of Bishop's Palace, see the interesting displays at Waterford Treasures Medieval Museum, then take a stroll around Reginald's Tower, and finally grab your bike and head to Waterford Greenway. On your second day here, take in the architecture and atmosphere at St Colman’s Cathedral, take in the spiritual surroundings of Cobh Cathedral, then examine the collection at Titanic Experience Cobh, and finally examine the collection at Cobh Heritage Centre.

You can drive from Kilkenny to Waterford in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and taxi; or take a bus. In June, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 14°C. You'll have a few hours on the 8th (Tue) to wrap things up before traveling home.
