A Wondrous Diversity of Life

Great Smoky Mountains National Park contains some of the highest mountains east of the Mississippi River, but it's the ease of access that makes this national park the United States' most visited.
Step out of the city life by going to Roaring Fork and Ramsey Cascades. There's lots more to do: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount LeConte, hike along Grotto Falls Parking, stroll through Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, and appreciate the history behind Rockefeller Memorial.

To see other places to visit, maps, ratings, and other tourist information, use the Great Smoky Mountains National Park road trip website.

Fort Lauderdale to Great Smoky Mountains National Park is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and bus; or take a bus. Expect a bit cooler evenings in Great Smoky Mountains National Park when traveling from Fort Lauderdale in July, with lows around 69°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Mon) to allow enough time to take a bus to Asheville.
