Founded in 1929, Coyhaique is a young city--a baby by world standards--developed from humble agricultural origins to become the capital and main hub of the largely rural Aysen Region.
Venture out of the city with trips to Cerro Castillo (in Villa Cerro Castillo), Puerto Aisen (Presidente Ibanez Bridge, Cascada La Virgen, & more) and Parque Aiken del Sur (in Puerto Chacabuco). On the 16th (Sun), dedicate a day to the elevated beauty of Reserva Nacional Cerro Castillo. And it doesn't end there: identify plant and animal life at Coyhaique National Reserve, experience rural life at Fundo Panguilemu, get great views at Piedra del Indio, and make a trip to Monumento al Ovejero.

In February in Coyhaique, expect temperatures between 24°C during the day and 9°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Sat) to allow time to travel back home.
