City of Beautiful Towers

Founded in the 10th century as a Viking fishing village, Copenhagen has morphed into the cultural, political, and economic powerhouse of the country.
Do your shopping at Torvehallerne and National Gallery of Denmark. Get in touch with nature at Stevns Klint and Bellevue Beach. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Copenhagen: Holtug Kridtbrud (in Store Heddinge), Eskebjerg Vesterlyng (in Eskebjerg) and Dragsholm Castle (in Vindekilde). And it doesn't end there: kick back and relax at Gudmindrup Beach, stroll through Bureso, admire the masterpieces at Davids Samling (The David Collection), and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Fanefjord Church.

For other places to visit, where to stay, photos, and tourist information, use the Copenhagen journey planner.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiport is Copenhagen Kastrup Airport. In April, plan for daily highs up to 52°F, and evening lows to 38°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Mon) so you can travel back home.
