Cobh

Although Cobh played a major role in the story of Irish emigration to America, most people know it as the final port of call for the ill-fated Titanic.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Cobh Cathedral and Ballycotton Lighthouse. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to St Colman’s Cathedral and Kilfaughnabeg Christ Church. Change things up with these side-trips from Cobh: Lismore (St Carthage's Catholic Church & Saint Carthage's Cathedral), Ardmore (Ardmore Round Tower And Cathedral, Ardmore Round Tower, &more) and St. Mary's Church of Ireland Graveyard (in Dungarvan). There's lots more to do: explore the different monuments and memorials at Old Church Cemetery, steep yourself in history at Haulbowline Island, step into the grandiose world of Barryscourt Castle, and examine the collection at Titanic Experience Cobh.

To find more things to do, other places to visit, where to stay, and other tourist information, refer to the Cobh day trip planning website.

If you are flying in from Sweden, the closest major aiports are Cork Airport and Shannon Airport. In June in Cobh, expect temperatures between 19°C during the day and 11°C at night.
