Chioggia is a coastal town and comune of the Metropolitan City of Venice in the Veneto region of northern Italy.GeographyThe town is situated on a small island at the southern entrance to the Lagoon of Venice about 25km south of Venice (50km by road); causeways connect it to the mainland and to its frazione, nowadays a quarter, of Sottomarina. Change things up with these side-trips from Chioggia: Padua (Centro Storico, Basilica di Sant’Antonio, & more). There's lots more to do: get outside with Bagni Minerva, see the interesting displays at Museo dell'Orologio, tour the pleasant surroundings at Bagni Sirena, and take a leisurely stroll along Diga Sottomarina.

If you are flying in from Austria, the closest major airports are Venice Marco Polo Airport, Treviso-Sant'Angelo Airport and Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport. In September, daily temperatures in Chioggia can reach 25°C, while at night they dip to 19°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 15th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
