7 days in Cartagena Itinerary

The site of the continent's first Spanish colony, Cartagena retains much of its colonial flavor thanks to a World Heritage-listed old town, encircled by old walls and protected by imposing fortresses.

When in Cartagena, make a side trip to see Playa Blanca in Isla Baru, approximately Isla Baru away. Spend the 18th (Sun) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. There's still lots to do: step into the grandiose world of Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, relax and rejuvenate at Volcan de Lodo El Totumo (Mud Volcano), make a trip to Plaza de Bolivar, and examine the collection at Caribe Jewelry Museum & Factory.
