7 days in Bentota, Mirissa & Ella Itinerary

The coastal town of Bentota boasts a number of seaside attractions to draw in guests.

New Delhi, India to Bentota is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. Expect somewhat warmer weather when traveling from New Delhi in December: highs in Bentota hover around 36°C, while lows dip to 28°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 27th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Mirissa.

You can drive from Bentota to Mirissa in 2 hours. Another option is to take a train. In December in Mirissa, expect temperatures between 35°C during the day and 26°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Sat) early enough to drive to Ella.

The relaxing hilltop village of Ella benefits from a more temperate climate than much of the rest of country thanks to its high elevation.

Start off your visit on the 30th (Sun): explore the striking landscape at Ella Rock and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Little Adam's Peak.

You can drive from Mirissa to Ella in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or do a combination of bus and train. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 30th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
