Wind Town

The northernmost city in the country, Wakkanai experiences constant exposure to the elements, with windy and snow-covered winters perhaps its main claim to fame on a national level.
Venture out of the city with trips to Toyotomi-cho (Kabutonuma Park, Miyanodai Observation Tower, &more), Hamatonbetsu-cho (Veneer Nature Flower Garden & Lake Kutcharo) and Reindeer Ranch (in Horonobe-cho). The adventure continues: don't miss a visit to Soya Misaki, get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Wakkanai City Noshappu Aquarium, explore and take pictures at Ororon Line, and take in panoramic vistas at Hamayuchi Rest House (Kohone House).
