Leavenworth is a city in Chelan County, Washington, United States. Step off the beaten path and head to River Rafting & Tubing and Lake Chelan. Step out of the city life by going to Chelan Electric Bikes and McKellar Cabin Trail. Get out of town with these interesting Leavenworth side-trips: Wenatchee (Apple Capital Loop Trail & Wenatchee National Forest), Lincoln Rock State Park (in East Wenatchee) and Chain Lakes Loop (in Bellingham). Spend the 30th (Wed) exploring nature at Lake Chelan National Recreation Area. The glaciers from which Glacier National Park takes its name mostly dissipated eons ago, but they left behind a scoured landscape of high and steep mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, lush alpine meadows, and thick forests.
Explore hidden gems such as Grinnell Glacier and St. Mary Lake. Step out of the city life by going to Iceberg Lake Trail and Trail of the Cedars. Spend the 16th (Fri) exploring nature at Red Rock Falls, Glacier National Park. Badlands National Park

Although Badlands National Park's name might not be the most inviting, its landscape of pinnacles, eroded buttes, spires, and an expansive, pristine mixed-grass prairie remain enticing.
Get some historical perspective at South Dakota's Original 1880 Town and Sage Creek Wilderness Area. Get outdoors at Loop Road and Notch Trail. Get out of town with these interesting Badlands National Park side-trips: Hurley Butte Horseback Riding (in Interior), Oglala Lakota College Historical Center (in Kyle) and Lacreek National Wildlife Refuge (in Martin).
