One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
On the 29th (Thu), make a trip to Bukchon Hanok Village, then get engrossed in the history at Gyeongbokgung Palace, then wander the streets of Insadong, and finally explore the activities along Cheonggyecheon Stream. Keep things going the next day: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Jongmyo Shrine, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Changdeokgung Palace, and then admire the natural beauty at Namsan Park.

Traveling by combination of train and flight from Kyoto to Seoul takes 6.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and flight; or do a combination of train, bus, and flight. Expect a bit cooler weather when traveling from Kyoto in October: highs in Seoul hover around 22°C, while lows dip to 21°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 30th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
