Emerald City

Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Visit Alki Beach and Seahurst Beach Park for some beach relaxation. Chihuly Garden and Glass and Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience will appeal to museum buffs. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Seattle: Langley (Earth Sanctuary & Whidbey Island Distillery), Discover Nature (in Mount Rainier National Park) and Freeland (Mutiny Bay Distillery & Double Bluff Beach). Dedicate the 18th (Tue) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. Spend the 30th (Wed) exploring nature at Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve. There's lots more to do: take a stroll through Pioneer Square, shop like a local with Pike Place Market, see the interesting displays at The Museum of Flight, and admire the masterpieces at Seattle Art Museum.
