Spain's Most Elegant City

Known for its prime north coast location and elegant city center, Santander remains the central destination for tourism and commerce in the whole Cantabrian region.
Popular historic sites such as Catedral de Santander and Monasterio de San Salvador are in your itinerary. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Parque de Cabo Mayor and Castle of the Dukes of Frias. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Santander: Ruta'l Quesu y la Sidra (in Asiego), Cueva de El Pindal (in Pimiango) and Santillana del Mar (Plaza Mayor de Ramon y Pelayo, Taller Estudio de Ceramica Santillana del Mar, &more). Spend the 20th (Sat) exploring nature at Peninsula of Magdalena. And it doesn't end there: take in the waterfront activity at Puerto Chico, see the interesting displays at Museo Maritimo del Cantabrico, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Monasterio de Santa Maria la Real, and visit a coastal fixture at Centro de Arte Faro Cabo Mayor.
