Ross-on-Wye is a small market town with a population of 9,574, in south eastern Herefordshire, England, located on the River Wye, and on the northern edge of the Forest of Dean. Venture out of the city with trips to Tewkesbury (Victoria Pleasure Gardens, John Moore Museum, & more), West Midland Safari Park (in Bewdley) and Gloucester (Hillfield Gardens, National Waterways Museum Gloucester, & more). There's still lots to do: take in the history at In The Footsteps Battlefield Tours, steep yourself in history at Worcester Cathedral, identify plant and animal life at WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre, and go for a walk through Selsley Common.

For other places to visit, where to stay, more things to do, and tourist information, refer to the Ross-on-Wye day trip tool .

In December in Ross-on-Wye, expect temperatures between 11°C during the day and 6°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Sun) so you can travel back home.
