Grenoble

— 59 nights

Capital of the Alps

At the foot of the French Alps where the river Drac joins the Isère (the lion and the serpent), Grenoble offers you tons of winter and summer activities to keep the entire family busy, like hiking, climbing, skiing, and snowboarding, as well as swimming in clean mountain lakes.
Get outdoors at Canyoning & Rappelling Tours and Climbing Tours. You'll get in some beach time at Plage d'Angon and Plages de Saint Jorioz. Get out of town with these interesting Grenoble side-trips: Annecy (Lake Annecy, La Vieille Ville, &more), Duingt (Randonnee La Montagne du Taillefer & Grotte de Notre Dame du Lac " Annecy ") and Talloires (Roc de Chere & Le Col de la Forclaz). Spend the 22nd (Thu) exploring nature at Queyras National Park. There's lots more to do: get outside with Outdoor Activities, steep yourself in history at Palais Ideal du Facteur Cheval, admire the masterpieces at Musee de Grenoble, and get engrossed in the history at Musee Dauphinois.

For where to stay, photos, more things to do, and more tourist information, you can read our Grenoble itinerary builder website.

If you are flying in from Colombia, the closest major aiports are Grenoble-Isère Airport, Chambéry-Savoie Airport and Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport. In June, daytime highs in Grenoble are 28°C, while nighttime lows are 15°C.
